Watch options. Storyline Edit. Charles and his mother Mary move to a small Indiana town, having recently fled Bodega Bay, California after draining and killed a young girl there. They are sleepwalkers - they can change their appearance and they need the lifeforce from young women.
Charles has picked out young girl Tanya, whom he meets at a local high school, as his next victim. He asks her out for a date and invites her home - however, she did not suspect his real interest in her. On their first date, a picnic at a nearby cemetery, he attempts to drain the lifeforce from her for himself and his mother. They feast on your fear - and it's dinner time. Trivia Lyman Ward and Cindy Pickett , who play Tanya's parents, were also married in real life at the time of filming. They had met when they appeared in Ferris Bueller's Day Off , where they also played a married couple. Goofs When Tanya takes pictures through the SLR camera in the cemetery, she should have seen Charles in his true form since the image in an SLR viewfinder is bounced off a mirror. Alternate versions To obtain a more commercially viable M rating for its theatrical release in Australia, a majority of the film's violence and gorier moments were cut by Columbia TriStar Films. These cuts were later restored for an uncut R rated home video release.
User reviews Review. Top review. This film is one of my favorites. I pretty much enjoy all of S king's films. The incest part here throws me off a bit , and is unlike any other S King film in that sense. But I still like this film for everything else it brings to horror table.
The effects are also fairly decent considering these creatures that the mother and son morph into look more like aliens then they do vamps. It could be and then again , maybe not. The lives of guards on Death Row are affected by one of their charges: a black man accused of child murder and rape, yet who has a mysterious gift.
