Made by the same team, and taking place in the same universe, Mabi is one of the most wide-open and free MMOs out there.
You really can do just about anything you want in Mabi. Do you want to be a gallant hero and save the world? Go for it. Do you want to be a tailor and sew amazing outfits that you can then sell to other players?
Do you want to make powerful weapons worthy of legend and sell them to those gallant heroes? There is a storyline in Mabi, divided into seasons and chapters just like Vindictus, but you can as I imagine many players do completely ignore this and go out to do your own thing. Add to that that there are no class restrictions to speak of I made a jack of all trades character that was strong with a sword and magic, but also a tailor and a shape shifter so long as you invest the time and effort your character can learn just about any mixture of skills that appeal to your vision for your character.
